The underground trampoline comes in different shapes and sizes, like a traditional trampoline, so you can adjust it to the shape and size of your backyard. They aren’t that popular as the traditional trampolines, especially because people aren’t aware that they exist. Besides that, ground level trampolines are more challenging because you have to secure trampoline to the ground, which is not as easy as it seems. After all, you have to dig a stable hole that won’t fall down during, even after the entire buried trampoline installation.
Are In Ground Trampolines Safer Than Regular Models?
When it comes to the sunken trampoline safety, the only way I can say that they are 100% safer is that they aren’t elevated from the ground so you can’t get injured entering or exiting the trampoline. Everything else according to the construction or the features is the same as with other types of trampolines. Although you don’t have to use the enclosure net with the trampoline on the floor, I would recommend it so you can avoid all accidents in the beginning. If you are thinking can you put a regular trampoline in the ground, you can, but I wouldn’t recommend that because you will need to make big changes on the trampoline and the cost will only go up.
How To Put A Trampoline In The Ground?
The in-ground trampoline installation doesn’t sound complicated because it consist of 4 steps, but you have to be careful around each step, especially number 1. The spets for putting a trampoline in the ground are:
1) Dig A Hole – you can’t simply do it, you have to think about how to dig a trampoline into the ground, the depth of the hole and how to stabilize the hole. The size of the hole has to be a few inches bigger than the trampoline. Don’t remove the soil because you will need it later. First, dig 10 inches of soil for the main frame. After that you have to dig a hole in the middle according to the size and shape of your sunken trampoline as you can see it on the picture below. 2) Assemble low-to-the-ground trampoline – Assemble the trampoline including the retaining wall above the hole you want to put it. Use the inground trampoline kit and manual instructions so you can be sure everything is in place. 3) Put the trampoline in the hole – and make sure that the frame is at the right height, which means it has to be in level with the surface. Use the rest of the soil you have put aside to fill out the gaps and make sure everything is tight around the trampoline. The in-ground trampoline retaining wall should hold the soil and the trampoline in place. 4) Finish with the venting pads – if you got a trampoline with the venting pads, attach them to the frame and you are ready to enjoy your brand new trampoline.
NOTE: this is not an actuall instruction on how to install an inground trampoline, it is a general explanation on what you should do. During the entire instalation of built-in trampoline into the ground, use the manual instruction you got with the trampoline because models vary from brand to brand.

As you can imagine, the in-ground trampoline cost is higher than traditional ones because of the installation so I would recommend it only for people who are handy and experienced with working in the ground and people with a healthy budget, who can hire a professional to install the ground level trampoline. But, if you want to see if there are lower built-in trampoline prices, check out web shops like Amazon, Wayfair or even Walmart because they often have good deals on different products including trampolines.
